Phil Harrelson has worked in almost every facet of Post Production for the past 20+ years. In his early professional years in San Diego he utilized his computer skills and sense of story telling from his music and theater training as a picture editor for Commercials, Music Videos and High End Industrial Films.
He continued to edit commercial work at night while he explored the cutting rooms of AIR FORCE ONE, THE ENGLISH PATIENT and THE X FILES. After making a couple of more stops as a Senior Creative Editor, Phil landed a job as the Director of Technology for a Motion Picture Sound Editing Company. In his service there he was able to build unique and efficient Post Production sound and picture workflows for Director’s such as Michael Mann and Lawrence Kasdan.
The DOT COM era came along and Phil couldn’t help himself, he jumped on board with Popcast.com where he produced, shot and edited LIVE INTERNET WEBCASTS for Dreamworks Studios and Microsoft. After that, Phil ventured on as a CTO with The Digital Difference where he and his team engineered cutting edge Digital Filmmaking techniques for Independent and Studio Film producers such as Samuel Goldwyn Films, Universal Pictures, and HBO Films. From there it was only natural for Phil to oversee the entire Post Production Process.
Since Phil ventured out on his own he has focused on finishing Independent Films and Movies for Television for producers and directors with technical, financial or scheduling challenges with great success. His favorite project was finishing BRICK for director Rian Johnson as an almost entirely traditional 35mm Negative Cut.
